Exchange participants from Latvia, Lithuania, Turkey, Romania and Slovenia will spend 6 days gaining skills in various forms of arts and crafts, as well as social skills in an international environment.
The goal of the European projection youth exchange entitled ‘Crafts’ (handicrafts) is to encourage young people to develop creativity and the desire to make various products by agreeing, with their hands, and learning traditional European crafts, and perhaps find their profession in it. The project with participants from five countries represents the diversity of Europe, offers the opportunity of practical learning, has an impact on reducing youth unemployment and exposure to risks for the exclusion of young people or non-involvement in social events.
Andra Vanaga, president of the Latvian association, which hosts the exchange, believes that the main goal of the project is to make new friends and get to know the cultures of other countries. In general, participants want to meet peers from other countries, improve their English skills, communication skills, learn more about Latvia and get to know other nations and their crafts.
