Goodies of the Jablanica Valley

Since the preservation of cultural heritage is an important goal of the association for the development of the Laz countryside, we have once again decided to encourage locals and the surrounding area to progress in the production and achievement of a better quality of food products that are typical for the Jablanica Valley, as well as the surrounding area. For this purpose, on Sunday, November 27, 2016 at 5:00 p.m., we will organize the event "Goodies of the Jablanica Valley".

Walnut štrukeljci

The event will be both educational and social. Everyone who soaks flowers in brandy is invited to participatece and herbs for homemade herbal brandy and/or you like to bake štrukljes, as well as everyone else who likes to come to good company. The evaluation of the products will be purely informative, so you are invited to join those who are just acquiring this knowledge and want to upgrade it. We will be happy to have any brandy and štruklejce sample. We are preparing an interesting and pleasant social evening.

Recognition of Pavla Rozina for the best mint štrukeljc at the Goodies of Jablaniška dolina event in 2015

This year we will evaluate štrukeljce and herbal brandy (domestic ‘Jeger’), which are the most characteristic of the Jablanica Valley and are prepared in several ways. Each sample that you bring for evaluation will be professionally evaluated by a three-member committee, and you will receive recognition for your participation.

However, since the LAZ association supports intercity cooperation, this year we also invited the members of the Association of Rural Women and Girls of Dole, Gabrovka, Litija – Šmartno, Polšnik, and Vače to participate.

Program:

– At 5:00 p.m., join us for an educational lecture, which will be given by Boža Grafenauer, Doctor of Ethnology, lecturer at the Higher Professional School for Hospitality and Tourism in Bled. She will present to us the importance of Štruklje in the everyday and festive way of life of people in Slovenia and highlight the importance and possibilities of modern interpretations of culinary heritage in tourism;
