Puntarski dnevi in Tolmin – an event on the 300th anniversary of the Tolmi punts, was used as a workshop for the workshop to promote active citizenship. The LAZ association, which in 2013 is implementing the ECRC project – the European Information Center for Civil Society, organized an interesting two-day program, which was attended by around 40 representatives of associations and the local community.
At the discussion in Tolmin, which we wrote ‘once until the changes with a punt, today with a citizen’s initiative’, in the introduction we heard a historical outline of the situation in society at the time of the punts, which was given in a comparative way with today’s time by the curator of Tolminski of the museum, ethnologist Karla Kofol, his view on cooperation with active citizens and local initiatives was given by the mayor of the municipality of Tolmin, Mr. Uroš Brežan. The process from the citizens’ initiative to the decision of the municipal council was explained by the municipal councilors – Jože Ponebšek from the municipality of Šmartno pri Litija and Jože Režonja from the municipality of Tolmin.
A workshop followed.
Katarina Možina presented the European Information Center of Civil Society, which is managed by the LAZ association and the Europe for Citizens program.
The work in groups was very lively. The workshop was moderated by Tjaša Bajc, who trained for this work in the spring of the ECRC project in Sofia. The groups presented the initiatives at the end of the workshop.
