The Society for Rural Development Laz was successful in the tender of the American Embassy with the project “I care about water”. The purpose of the project is to raise people’s awareness of the importance of preserving water resources.
In the villages of Breg and Tenetiše, there are over a hundred wells that are no longer in use, and could play a big role in changing the habits of the inhabitants when using drinking water. In the coming days, young people will start inventorying and collecting data on village wells in the area of Jablaniška dolina.
After the inventory of the wells, water samples will be taken for free analysis. Research will be carried out in the area of the Jablaniški stream and the Sava (section at Breg), on the topic of water pollution and animal species that live in this environment. A walking path will be prepared, which will also serve as a school learning trail in connection with the permanent exhibition of pebbles in the Breg fire station.
An event will be organized on Sava Day, where the results of the research will be presented. More about the project will be available on the website (www.jablaniskadolina/vodamenebriga),which will soon come to life. You are cordially invited, everyone who would like to voluntarily participate in the project to contact us via e-mail info@jablaniskadolina.si or phone 070 303 321 .
