Behind us is another very interesting and numerically well-attended free workshop, this time on the topic of using herbs. The two and a half hour workshop took place on November 6, 2014 in the Pustov mlin inn. It was led by herbalists from Konjšica, Mr. Tomaž and Mrs. Monika Mulej – Herb farm Hanuman.
Mr. and Mrs. Mulej revived a long abandoned farm, where they now grow mainly herbs on one hectare of cultivated land. For many years, in addition to herbs, they also gathered knowledge at various herbalist workshops and trainings of Slovenian and foreign herbalists. A slightly different view of herbalism was revealed by the one-month adventure with the American herbalist Darrel Martin from Mississippi.
50 people attended the workshop. Mr. and Mrs. Mulej held two workshops in one. Through theory and practice, they presented the ways of using herbs and the technique of making ointments, oils and tinctures. This was followed by a tasting of the spread, dessert and juice from herbs and weeds. As the second part of the workshop, they prepared information and sample examples of the use of herbs and weeds in cooking.
The workshop was organized by the Laz Rural Development Association with the financial support of the Municipality of Šmartno pri Litija.
