The free herbal workshop was organized by the LAZ association on 27 November 2014 at 5 p.m. in the Pustov mlin inn, with the financial support of the municipality of Šmartno pri Litija. The workshop was led by Mrs. Pavla Rozina, herbalist and member of the LAZ association, who has been growing and collecting herbs and forest fruits for 5 years.
The workshop was held in two sections. In the first, herbs were shown, which are mainly used to make tea mixtures. We got to know plants that still thrive in our area, with an emphasis on organic production and harvesting.
During the short break, we also tried types of teas made from herbs grown and collected at the Pr` Janez farm. In the second part, we learned how to collect and store herbs as a rule and how to prepare tea mixtures.
The lecture was listened to with interest by 37 participants from the municipality of Šmartno pri Litija, Litija and the surrounding area. This is proof that we are increasingly aware of how important knowledge of herbs is. We are glad that there was a lot of interest in picking and growing herbs among young people as well.
