On Thursday, January 16, 2014, a culinary workshop ‘Traditional dishes and their modern use’ took place in the inn Pustov mlin in Cerovica (Smartno pri Litija municipality). We wrote down old recipes with local housewives and food providers, which we will be able to offer visitors as a taste of our area.
As part of the implementation of the Goodness from the Heart project, we held a culinary workshop, which was attended by twenty members of the Laz Society from Jablaniška dolina and the Association of Rural Women and Girls Polšnik. With the project, we want to strengthen local self-sufficiency and place traditional food on the menus of local inns and farms that welcome excursionists and hold events. After the lecture by ethnologist Mija Bokal on the importance of local cuisine for the recognition and tourism development of the area, we checked the old recipes for local traditional food, which we also tasted, in groups. Afterwards, chef Darja Povše from the Pustov mlin inn prepared updated dishes from local ingredients and made a series of suggestions that will be especially useful for homesteads that welcome guests.
