On Sunday, May 25, 2014, the sixth event ‘Day of Strawberries and Asparagus’ took place at the fire station in Breg pri Litija, organized by PGD Breg, Sports Association Breg, Tenetiše, Local community Breg, Tenetiše and our association – Society for Development Country of Laz. The weather was kind to us, so the event is which It connects locals, associations and the local community, visited by a considerable crowd of people.
The event, which promotes local self-sufficiency and food production, the development of the countryside and the preservation of cultural heritage, began at 10 a.m. with the ceremonial acceptance of the new PGD Breg fire engine.
This was followed by an entertainment program with the Lithuanian Echo ensemble and various social sports games and competitions. Creative workshops for the youngest were prepared in the children’s corner.
Throughout the entire event, organic asparagus and strawberries, various dishes made from strawberries and asparagus, delicacies from local farms, grilled dishes and, products from local and artificial crafts from exhibitors from all over Slovenia, were available to visitors.
We have also prepared an info stand where you could obtain information about our surroundings.
Until now, the organizers have collected funds for the renovation of the fire station in Breg pri Litija with the event, but this time the money was collected for a new one for a fire truck. With the help of satisfied visitors, the progress of the village can be seen from event to event.
