On Independence Day and St. Stephen’s Day, December 26, a quarter of the inhabitants of the Jablaniška Valley came to the meeting. The hall in the new fire station was filled to the last seat. Firefighters worked day and night to order the new hall to be on order for the traditional event, which was the eleventh time this year.
The program was prepared by the Society for Rural Development LAZ with the cooperation of the coordination of KS and the municipality of Šmartno pri Litija. Children participated in the program with their points, Ida Dolšek presented her new book, the local women’s choir Laz sang four songs, and Klavdija Jerin surprised with her extraordinary singing talent. Children make their parents happy with their performance and germinate in front of the audience and look forward to the arrival of Santa Claus with a game and gifts. The pleasant gathering continued with accordion players playing Acota, Uroš and Žiga.
With the new fire station, the Jablaniška dolina got new opportunities for various events and activities. A hall for more than 200 people is an asset for an even more varied cultural and social life in the valley. Firefighters proved that even in these times of crisis, with the right agreement, support of the local community and voluntary work, such projects as the new construction of a multi-purpose fire station in the village can be carried out.
