The Laz Rural Development Association organized the 12th traditional hike along the Jablaniška path. The organizers were surprised by the average turnout, as we expected more hikers due to the beautiful sunny weather. The special feature of this year’s hike was the possibility of making Easter butars along the way.
Before the start, the hikers refreshed themselves with a traditional Jablanica breakfast (apple, štrukeljc, coffee and tea) and, well refreshed, embarked on a 15 km long circular route. Along the way, the locals, as always, provided an excellent range of local delicacies.
The workshops in the production of Easter butars also received a lot of approval, as this year’s hike took place one day before Palm Sunday. Some tried their hand at making butarica, but many of them just bought the butarica.
Satisfied hikers were greeted at the finish line by a varied range of local delicacies and a rich cultural program. 7 young accordion players performed, 3 songs were sung by the singers of ŽPZ Laz, and at the end, folk singers and string players from Polšnik also performed. On the way down to the valley, many hikers stopped at the Memories Home, where they saw the 10th thematic exhibition of old photographs and objects.
Both the organizers and the hikers were satisfied with the hike. With the help of donors, the event was carried out with quality.
